Im Jahr 2013 übernahmen Frank und Justina Müller das ehemalige Parkhotel in Marl. Unter dem Namen Montana Parkhotel Marl führen sie das Haus erfolgreich als drittes von fünf Montana Hotels der Familie Müller.

You can't excuse everything with the argument that it's "out of date", especially at such a price.The carpet is so dirty that you don't dare walk on it barefoot. The beds are old and noisy and very uncomfortable. Towels are broken and have holes.One star goes to the employees.
Was visiting a friend. The food is top and the service staff is very friendly and accommodating
The Montana Parkhotel is well located. Unfortunately the hotel is getting quite old. The elevator, built in 1984, is a bit rickety. The room wasn't clean, but we still put up with it for one night.For €94 a night I'm definitely used to something different and have already stayed in a few hotels and accommodations.However, the staff were polite and the restaurant/bar was fine. For this reason there are just two stars.I'll save myself from uploading pictures of the dirty bed, shower head, etc.I will never visit the hotel again and unfortunately I cannot recommend it. It's a shame about the object that could be used to make so much.

Rooms are very old, renovation is overdue including the bathroom. Old carpet with stains, bed creaks. No feeling of well-being possible. - Reception, staff very friendly. Good breakfast.
We have been staying at this hotel at irregular intervals for several years. The accommodation is fine. Also the breakfast.Unfortunately, we weren't able to test the restaurant during our stay. It was just always closed.When we asked, we were told this time that we had no staff. It's just strange that there is no reference to this, not even on the website. The menu is available at several locations in the hotel (including in the elevator). The restaurant is also advertised in the breakfast room.The rooms are a bit old. The bathrooms are in great need of renovation
Great stay, friendly and comfy beds.Very friendly staff, great breakfast. Free use of the Sauna with our stay was a big+.Only 1 point that turned out to a less good experience was the fact that there is a little too less parking spots available, as the parking was full when we arrived in the evening.

Positive: The location is great and the staff are friendly. The room is bright and cozy. For the price, the performance is good. The room is completely okay if you e.g. As a family of 4 we travel a lot and only need something for the night. Everything looks clean and the breakfast tastes good. They offer everything the European taste needs.Negative: Unfortunately you don't get sparkling water at breakfast, which was really stupid for me as a water drinker. I would have had to buy the water at reception. On weekends the bar and restaurant are closed, which makes it very difficult for a family with children to always find something inexpensive for dinner. Since we were out all day, it would have been good if we could have eaten directly in the hotel or if there had been a small evening buffet and we wouldn't have had to go to the adjacent "food stalls" with tired children to get something. I wouldn't consider the hotel as a family, at least over the weekend.All in all the location is great and fine for a few days. We would come again, but not for a weekend.
Unfortunately, the rooms are outdated and do not match the really nice reception area and restaurant/dining room.
After a 10 hour train ride we arrived at a terrible hostel. Since we wanted to leave there immediately, we quickly booked this hotel. It was great, very tidy and clean rooms. The staff was very friendly. Especially the two gentlemen who served us at the bar, we had a great chat with them and had a pleasant evening. A beautiful environment. Quiet location.We can only recommend the hotel, it's great.:-)
Outdated hotel. Bed broken, made loud noises, probably slatted frame broken. No replacement room was given, nor was there an offer for a price reduction. Breakfast great.
First the positive things:- The location is “central”- free parking spaces in front of the doornegative:- dirty- smells musty- Price per night completely excessive- ancient rooms- Hotel has not been modernized since it opened- Sauna can only be accessed if you contact us in advance- noisy is putting it mildly- Air conditioning brokenThe location is really “central”. You can walk to Marler Stern and have a coffee, eat something or shop there.Zoom and Movie Park are easily accessible by car.If you come into the yard you will find some parking spaces in front of the door. These are free. To be fair, parking is free throughout Marl. The entrance area takes you directly to reception. There was a less motivated employee here who apparently hadn't learned any etiquette and used his nickname without being asked. This is simply not appropriate. But it says a lot about the people and the hotel. The gentleman handed over the “key” with an unnecessarily heavy pendant. This appears to have been purchased when the building was constructed. I can't imagine it any other way.There is a stairwell and alternatively a small, old elevator. Unfortunately, the latter wobbles very unpleasantly when you reach the floor. But this doesn't seem to be a reason for getting stuck.The entire hotel is carpeted. Hell for house dust allergy sufferers! The vacuuming here is maximally superficial.There was also dust and dirt in the bathroom, on and in the cupboards, on the table, TV, bed etc. At that price an absolute no go! It smells old and unfortunately there is no ventilation here either.The air conditioning is just a nostalgic decoration.The lake view is not an upgrade, just a brown/green sewer with squawking ducks.The walls look terrible and the rooms haven't been changed since they were built.It's noisy, as if the walls were made of Styrofoam. All night long you can hear people talking, having sex or a television playing.When I left I wasn't asked how I liked it or whether everything was okay. This was probably not a lack of interest, but simply self-protection. She didn't seem particularly interested in talking anyway and my dark circles under my eyes were more than visible after the weekend in this hotel.Conclusion:Once and never again!
We stayed one night to go to see the Italy-Spain match.20 minutes to reach the stadium.🏟️.
We were in the restaurant. The food and also the service - Andre' - were very good.
Outdated hotel in the rooms. No sockets next to the bed, no extraction in the shower. Dirty under the couch that we moved to make it easier to get into bed. Good water jet in shower, good restaurant, friendly staff.

Very good hotel in the heart of Marl. Friendly staff and great service. The breakfast buffet is mega, huge and leaves nothing to be desired. Is accessible to everyone and not just guests. Plus absolutely inexpensive. The owners very nice and friendly. An absolutely recommended hotel 👍.👍.👍.👍.

Very dirty, practically not cleaned room! Despite warnings and complaints, nothing was done!!! There is nothing more to say here. It's a shame, the steep price and then…breakfast not included + €16.
An excellent hotel in the center of the city near the station and a large shopping mall.The staff was very friendly and the room was neat with a view over a lake with geese.There is a good sauna on the 4th floor with a rest room.The breakfast buffet was good with many tasty choices
Great service and also great food. The staff is also very accommodating and the pizza is simply better than the Italian restaurant. We had a lot of fun on our evening. The house schnapps was also really tasty. You just feel at home there and you have a great view of the park and the city lake.
Great hotel in a top location in Marl, the service is very important here! Cozy restaurant with a great menu and fair prices. I would recommend the hotel to my friends and acquaintances at any time.The young gentleman in the hotel bar was also very helpful and still friendly. I also think the view of the lake is really nice, and it's right next to the shopping center.
Being a hotel operator and at the same time an official of a largely anti-constitutional, racist party does not go together. I'm not staying here anymore!
Hotel is very well located in Marl. Rooms are nice and clean. The staff is very friendly. If you want to eat delicious food in a great atmosphere, you should visit the restaurant! Not just for hotel guests!
Quite OK, room a bit outdated. The breakfast was rich and good. Unfortunately the hotel bar is closed on weekends, it's more of a business hotel.
The hotel is centrally located in Marl, opposite the Marler Stern shopping arcade. In between there is the lake, which is actually a beautiful view. Disadvantage: the water birds make a terrible noise, day and night - unfortunately I can't see this as a "natural occurrence", it's an imposition and a nuisance and doesn't promote relaxation.We only booked an overnight stay, so can't say anything about the service or food, but the furnishings in the rooms are getting old. The sockets are available, if you want to use them you have to crawl under the cupboards opposite the bed, there is no power supply on the bed itself. The bedside tables don't deserve the name; they are small storage areas, no bigger than a tablet. Why is the bed too close to the wall on one side? This really could have been solved in a more user-friendly way.There is a shower bathtub in the bathroom that works very well, but the hairdryer switches off after 1 minute due to overheating, so blow-drying long hair is no fun here.The room itself was clean and there was a welcome bottle of water. Anyone who is used to soft mattresses won't have a back problem here... a second pillow would be desirable, or at least one with more filling.Well, it's a shame, but unfortunately I can't give more stars at this price point
Room:Unfortunately, the feel-good factor was not there here.The bathroom is in great need of renovation. Both the toilet flush and the toilet paper holder were defective. There is only one bathtub and the bathroom seems ancient in terms of furnishings.Unfortunately there was no cleanliness either. There were some stains on the floor & side of the couch.There were several holes in both my duvet cover and the comforter.There were no sockets at the bedside table and there was no ceiling lamp in the "main room" despite there being a light switch.Service:Both the employees at the reception and in the restaurant were super friendly, committed and humorous. I wouldn't have anything to complain about in terms of service.Location:The lake in front of the hotel is very idyllic, but unfortunately the geese made noise all night long. There are some restaurants & supermarkets nearby.
At 80€ with the location you can expect that everyone has at least taken a quick look at the room beforehand and a quick airing out doesn't cost anything. Lock on the inside of the door doesn't work... the direct door to the next room doesn't close properly... Security = -10 it's a shame we booked two nights here. Definitely okay for the ladies in the horizontal shop but everything else... Room as in the photos without a fridge! TV available does not receive. Rooms aren't really clean 🤢🤢 We still won't have any fun here. 1984 called and wanted her hotel back....
Unfortunately, the rooms are no longer furnished in a contemporary manner. The food is okay, but still cold in the middle. The employee at the bar asks for a tip, which I personally find very rude, I would like to decide for myself whether I want to give a tip. The staff at the reception, on the other hand, are very friendly and helpful.

It is comfortable enough for a couple of days. However, the hotel shows its age and can do with a bit of face lift. Location is good as it is next to a small lake and 5 min walk from the mall and main bus terminal. Can get a little noisy at night.
The room was not heated, I ended up freezing all night despite my multiple requests to the reception to do something. At least they could have moved me to another room. At the end i got a discount of 12 euros on the bill, equivalent for the breakfast. Really poor service
We have chosen this hotel for our movie park trip as it seemed superior than the others in the list. Unfortunately it wasn't as great as we have expected: there was limited light in the room, bath room ( with bathtub and shower combination ) and rooms were rather old, bed was rather soft. As for the bar we requested a menu and were told that the prices on some of them were outdated - the cocktails priced at 6.50+ EUR were rather bad and the shots we tried expensive ... staff was also not very attentive.
The hotel is situated near the lake and shops.The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant is modern, breakfasts and dinners were really tasty.The rooms are comfortable with all necessary equipment.One minus- the bathroom was a little bit of old design.In general we enjoyed staying in this hotel.
This hotel is a nice, clean hotel. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The room I was in had several defective light switches but the lights could be turned on individually. The bed is a cheap spring mattress...not good for those with back problems. The complimentary hot breakfast is good. Overall, it is a decent hotel with a good staff and nice amenities.
